Hannah Floyd

Ashiatsu and Deep Tissue Massage

Hannah Floyd, LMT, has a background in cheesemaking and fashion design, two paths that perfectly prepared her to think creatively and scientifically as an integrative bodyworker. As a distance runner, Hannah has always been interested in the human body, pushing its limits, and finding ways to help the body strengthen, recover, and find balance. Hannah’s range of massage experience includes prenatal, Ashiatsu, deep tissue, Thai, sports massage, trigger point therapy, and neuromuscular therapy.  She loves increasing bodily awareness in her clients and working towards fulfilling specific wellness goals during sessions. As a transplant from rural Wisconsin via Brooklyn, Boston, the north shore of Massachusetts, and most recently, Denver, Hannah loves traveling and exploring new places. When she’s not doing bodywork, you’ll find Hannah trail running, exploring St. Louis, cheesemaking, sewing, or otherwise creating.

Ashiatsu Massage

Ashiatsu massage therapy is a type of massage derived from Eastern traditions spanning thousands of years in which the therapist uses her feet to deliver a non-invasive, deep-tissue massage. While utilizing the therapist’s body weight and the broadness of her feet, Ashiatsu massage allows for long, broad strokes into the lymphatic, fascia, and muscle tissue.

Benefits:
– reduced muscle tension and fascia/muscle adhesions
– lengthened muscles for increased flexibility
– increased lymphatic circulation
– spinal decompression
– anxiety reduction
– increased bodily awareness

While experiencing an Ashiatsu massage, it’s easy to fall into a deep state of relaxation while also benefiting at a neuromuscular level.

Cost of a session is $90 for 60 minutes, $125 for 90 minutes, or $165 for 120 minutes.

Using a combination of techniques, deep tissue massage therapy goes past the superficial layers of skin, targeting fascia and muscle groups deep below the surface. Deep tissue massage is appropriate for those working toward a specific goal of reducing chronic or acute tension, increasing athletic recovery time and performance, and/or reducing muscle or nerve pain. When received regularly, deep tissue massage therapy can help you toward your goals of increased mobility and range of motion, improved posture, and reduced chronic tension or pain.

Benefits:

  • reduced overall muscle tension
  • decreased pain through trigger point and active release
  • reduced fascia/muscle adhesions
  • reduced anxiety
  • increased flexibility/ range of motion/ mobility
  • spinal decompression
  • increased bodily awareness

Deep tissue massage goes deep, but should not be painful. Be sure to communicate with your therapist to make sure you are able to relax throughout the session.

Cost of a session is $90 for 60 minutes, $125 for 90 minutes, or $165 for 120 minutes.
